A Poem From The Heart
Usti Yona

I am Little Bear. In Cherokee I am called Usti Yona. My wife is called Spotted Owl. Our granddaughter is called Walking-Proud.

And here is a
Poem From The Heart

There is a peaceful cove
found deep within your heart
where God is always found
He's been there from the start.

He's waiting there for you now
to come walk by His side
He'll hold you close and love you
His heart will fill with pride

For He loves every one of us
Of that you can be sure
With patience He will wait for us
Our souls He'll make secure

Just come to Him in Faith my friend
He'll take you by the hand
And lead you home to Heaven
On this you can depend.

If you wish to tell something about me, I would be grateful. I really want people to know that my people are not savages like they are portrayed on the TV and in movies but are really spiritual people.

Here is something that sounds like Christian principals but is really our teaching for our children.

We teach them to put the Great Spirit first in all thinking and decisions.
To put the good of the village second;
The good of our own family third;
And ourselves last.
This is a Christian principal:
God first, the family of God or the Church second.
Our own families third and ourselves last.

Not many people know this and it has been nearly lost by the treatment of our people and the removal of our children from the home.

Please understand that I am not being bitter. I am just stating facts. I know that the Great Spirit has a plan for us. I don't know what it is and I don't think any of us do. We just have to wait 'til He reveals it to us.

In Loving Spirit,

Usti Yona, Spotted Owl & Walking-Proud
