Questions 11-20: The names untangled:

11. HURT——————-——Ruth (Ruth 4:13)

..........Ruth was a Moabite, the daughter-in-law of Naomi. She refused to leave Naomi when her mother-in-law entreated her to stay in her own country. Instead, she went with Naomi back to Israel, married Boaz, who became the forefather of Jesus.

2. LAHIDEL——————-—Delilah (Judges 16:4-5)

..........Delilah was the temptress, who enticed Sampson to disclose the secret of his strength. After telling her several falsities, Sampson finally revealed to Delilah that his strength lay in his hair. The Philistines cut off his hair, put out his eyes, and jailed him. Sampson, in one last effort, eventually pulled down the pillars of the house where the Philistines were feasting, killing himself and everyone at the party. In his death, Sampson destroyed more wicked Philistines, than he did during his life. See Judges, chapters 13 through 16 for the full story of Sampson.

13. THAARM—————-—Martha (John 11:1)

..........Martha was the sister of Mary and Lazarus, all friends of Jesus. Martha was a "server", while her sister, Mary, was a "worshipper."

14. SCTPALLIR—————--Priscilla (Acts 18:2)

..........Priscilla was Aquilla's wife, believers at Corinth. Paul stayed at their place. Aquilla and Paul were of the same trade, tent makers.

15. CARSOD—-——-———Dorcas (Acts 9:36)

..........Dorcas was a woman of good works, who made garments for all the widows. Dorcas died, and the widows called to Peter to come. Peter prayed, and called, "Tabitha, arise." Tabitha (Dorcas) arose and Peter presented her to her friends. (For the full story, see Acts 9:36-43).

16. NANA————————Anna (Luke 2:36)

..........Anna was a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel. She was a widow, and had served in the temple for eighty-four years, without ever having left it. She blessed the infant Jesus, when His parents took Him to the temple.

17. HERSET————————Esther (Esther 2:17)

..........Esther was a young Hebrew woman, who won a beauty contest, and became queen of a great nation. Ahasuaerus' kingdom extended from India to Ethiopia. He had become displeased with his wife. Queen Vashti, so he put on a beauty contest, in order to pick the most suited—and beautiful—replacement for her. Esther was chosen out of the hundreds of contestants to become Ahasuaerus’ queen. Consequently, she saved her nation, Israel, from destruction. (For the full story, read all of the book î Esther.)

18. HANDI————————Dinah (Genesis 30: 21)

..........Dinah was the daughter of Jacob and Leah.

19. MOANI-————————Naomi (Ruth 1:22)

..........Naomi was the wife of Elimelech. She bore two sons, Mahlon and Chilion. They left their native land of Bethlehem-judah, and went to Moab, because there was a famine in the land. There, Elimelech, Mahlon and Chilion all died. Naomi went back to her own land, and Ruth, her daughter-in-law went with her.

20. RIMAMI———————-—Miriam (Exodus 15:20)

..........Miriam was the sister of Moses. When Moses was born, there had been a decree put out by the Pharaoh of Egypt that all the male children under two must be drowned, Moses’ mother hid him for three months. When she knew she could not hide him longer, she made an ark out of bulrushes, and laid the baby in it, and placed him on the river. Miriam, then twelve, watched over the baby. When Pharaoh’s daughter came to bathe, and found the baby, she decided to adopt it. Miriam was responsible for getting her mother to be the nursemaid of her own son; thus Moses was spared. He grew up to be the one who led the Children of Israel out of Egypt. Miriam leads the dance of triumph. (Exodus 15:20).
