He Holds The Master Plan
Helen Dowd

The bells ring out at midnight.
The old year gasps its last.
We think that last year's problems
Will fade into the past.

Now that a new year's dawning
We'll start out fresh and new.
We'll get a brand new pattern:
Perfection we'll pursue.

We'll follow the directions.
Our errors we'll review.
We'll cut out all the bad spots.
We'll bid them fond adieu.

The projects of the past year
Just didn't turn out right.
We messed up on the pattern.
Our garment is quite a sight!

But we can't start all over.
The model has been pre-cast.
We cut the fashion of each day
From the pattern of the last.

But let's not be discouraged.
Let God do what He can.
He'll fix the mess we've made of things.
He holds the Master Plan.

God said He'd take the OLD THINGS,
And from them, make things NEW.
So if we let Him have His way,
Who knows what He might do?
