I was walking in darkness, so lost in the night;
But there shined from above, God's marvelous light.
I dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Now abide in His sunshine and delight in His rest.From darkness and bondage of Satan's grim power;
Now my King is God's Son in His glorious power;
From worshipping dead gods of wood and of stone
I serve now the true God, alive, on His throne.
I was doomed to the terror of God's wrath to come;
Now I'm washed, sanctified, and I wait for His Son.
My works were like rags, unclean in God's sight,
Now I'm clothed with salvation, my garments are white.

Isaiah 9:2 – “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
I Peter 2:9 – “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:”
Hebrews 4:3 (a) – “For we which have believed do enter into rest..”
Colossians 1:11 & 13 – “Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”
I Thessalonians 1:9 – “For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;”
Isaiah 64:6 – “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
