My husband, Hart, and I celebrated our fiftieth-first wedding anniversary this year (2008), on August 24th. During our married lifetime we shared in the raising of many children, none of whom were born to us. I also worked with physically and mentally handicapped people, and have been caregiver for elderly relatives and friends. Now I am enjoying life with Hart, our four cats, Keeper, Ezee, Scooter,and Sparky (All cast-offs or rescue cats.),and our dog, Corky, (Rocky died in November, '07. We adopted Corky from an animal rescue in December '07),

My older sister, Evelyn Splane, who has spent her life as a missionary to India, joined our family in April 2006. We enjoy having her in our home. She has not only accepted us and our life-style, but she loves Corky and the cats as much as we do...God bless her!

In 2004 Hart was taken ill with stapf infection, nearly losing his life. In April of 2007 he had his right leg amputated, due to MRSA (super bug). Since then he has had to learn to adjust to life in a wheelchair; however, he uses his time to the utmost, sending out inspirational emails. He has met many suffering people on the internet, and feels that his health problems are insignificant compared to those with whom he corresponds.

My accomplishments: Besides having graduated from Bible college in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, I have received certificates from two international writing courses, as well as from business college. Several of my poems, stories, pet articles, and Bible studies have been published in anthologies and local magazines and newspapers, and most recently, on-line. I have won several prizes for my poetry, and have written poems for special occasions. In 2005, my book, If You Only Knew! was published.
