I have a Sister that lives in Norman Ok. She is in her eighties. Her name is Ruth. She
does not drive and her husband is ill and can no longer drive her places. Talking on the phone one day, she told me about having to walk to the store, and that it was hard for her to step down on the curb without, maybe losing her balance.
She came to the curb and was afraid to take the step down with the bag of groceries,
in one arm and her purse in the other. Then suddenly a very nice woman out of
no where, appeared and asked if she could help her. She took her arm and helped her step down and walked her across the street and up on the curb on the other side.
I told her that was her Angel, and she agreed. I wrote this poem and sent it to her, as who knows, it could very well have been.
In life, we can look back and see where we have been helped, comforted and cared for by our Angel. Of course we know that it is from God, each time. "He walks with us and He talksto us and He tells us we are His own," like the song says.
"THAT'S WHAT ANGELS DO"
Ruth, as you ventured to the store one day
It was not to far, just blocks away,
God's Guarding Angel watched over you
Yes, this is something Angels do.
You made it there safe and sound,
For things of need you shopped around.
Then came the time to start back home
Not knowing you were not alone!
Your Angel watched your every step,
Yes, your pathway home was safely kept.
An obstacle loomed in front of you,
Oh me! Oh my! What shall I do?
Your Angel suddenly appeared to you,
"Can I help you Dear, what can I do?"
"Oh yes, I need to cross this street,
But this step-down is a little steep!"
Your Angel took over your present need
Helped you safely on your way, indeed.
The Lord always care for His own,
And protects us until He takes us home.
So do not fear where 'er you go,
For God's Angel is always there, you know.
To watch over and lovingly care for you,
For this is what Angels, do!!

This Good Samaritan was probably an Angel.

Do not hesitate to entertain a stranger, for you
may be entertaining an Angel, unawares!
"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
