FATHER'S Day

Here is the poem as I wrote it for Father's day. It occurred to me that you never hear anyone speak of our Heavenly Father on Father's Day. Not even the preachers. It's all about our dads and God gets left out. Well when I thought about that I couldn't stand it. I couldn't give Him a gift like we do our fathers here on earth so I wrote this poem to honor Him.


FATHERS' DAY

To our Heavenly Father up above,
Who fills our lives with peace and love:
We honor You upon this day,
With gifts of worship as we pray.

We thank You most that from above,
You sent Your Son for us to love:
For us to love and to obey,
That He might take our sins away.

Though most of us won’t think of You,
When thoughts of father fill our view:
Still some of us there’ll always be,
Who’ll love to worship and praise Thee.
