![]() Luke 2: 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night… 9: And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid… 10: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people…15: And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us… 16: And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. Luke 2 The shepherds didn't just sit: they simply said, "Let's go!" So they upped and went where the angel led, with no time for discussions slow. They didn't have any arguments; no hollering about "...too bright!" They never discussed theology, but walked off into the night. They didn't ask for perfection; they accepted what was there-- A wee child cradled in cow's feed--with a halo around His hair. They'd never heard of doctrine; they SAW angels push clouds apart. They heard "Unto us is born..." and each took the Word to his heart. Then, returning whence they had come, each told of all he did see. So Christmas comes again today--just the same--for you and me! Now we have to do like they did: hold the words inside our dreams, While we squeeze them and form them until they're right. Till Christmas just LOVING means. © Marge Mulder
