WALK IN THE SPIRIT

Joyce Blume

NOTE FROM HELEN: Joyce sent this poem to Hart, my husband, as an encouragement to him. Hart had his right leg amputated six inches above his knee, on April 23, 2007, due to a stapf infection that just would not clear up. He suffered with this infection for more than three years. He is now free of it and doing fine. Although Joyce actually wrote this poem for a Christian lady friend of hers, who lost her leg due to diabetes, she sent it to Hart, as it is appropriate for him, too. Thanks Joyce.

You need no feet, to walk God's way,
If you walk in His Spirit, day by day.
You can travel with ease his great highway---
If you worship Him and pray.

You need no hands, His work to do,
It's a gift of life He has given you,
For the Lost around you see Jesus, too!
Just love them as His Word says do.

You need no eyes, to see this need,
Your job is but to scatter His seed,
And spread His love wherever the need.
Then souls will come and feed!

You need no tongue His word to speak,
If you are gentle, kind and meek,
In you they see Him, the lost and weak,
And then they too will seek.
Though some have all, and yet have none---
No hands to work, no feet to run,
No Spiritual eye, to see God's Son,
Nor, ear to hear Him say, "Well Done!"

They go through life in fear and dread,
Never by His Spirit led,
Never from His manna fed---
Their bodies whole, but spirits dead!

But you, His child, He always hears,
In perfect love, shall cast out fears,
And wipe away all fallen tears,
As He guides you through the years.

In Faith Dear One, you'll reach the mark,
So run life's race and do not balk---
In Him, hear, see, work and talk,
And in His Spirit---WALK
**************
