The Lost Soul
Sharon Niese

From across the room one could see her pain.
Many ponder, in wonder, "Is she insane?"
Why did she do all of the things she did?
True, she was different, since a kid.

Her bright eyes always wide with fear.
You could, sometimes, even see a tear.
What is wrong with this beautiful girl?
Always looking for a thrilling whirl?

A profound sadness seems to surround her
One never knows: what'll suddenly occur.
Is the child pleading for acceptance?
Seemingly so keyed up and very tense.

One can see buried hurt, deep inside
Where Anger rages, like an ocean tide.
She's forever seeking, to never find.
Walking the road, carved in her mind.

She cries out for help, "Please someone."
Why doesn't someone...anyone, come?
A sudden still voice, whispers to her,
"Come my child, come out of the mire."

With head lifted high, she reached out,
Taking the nail scared hand without doubt.
A new inner-peace filled her entire being.
A transformation could clearly be seen.

When Jesus touches life, it's "born again"
Free from distant past and dead to sin.
This my Lord does for one and all.
If you but listen, when you hear His call.
