Sitting In The Swing
Sharon Niese
This poem is dedicated to my Dad. This is how I remember his last days. How often he would sit out in the swing; Sometimes you could hear him sing Songs of praise to the Lord above, Thanking Him for His precious love. In the early morning there he would be-- Sitting in the swing by the big oak tree. There he would sit to meditate and pray, Asking the Lord to show him the way. Cancer did not defeat him at all. He never swayed from his Father's call. Hours still were spent out on the swing Praising and thanking Jesus the King.

Now no one is sitting out in the swing For Dad went home to be with the King. The swing sits now--so empty and still-- Where once a great man sought his Lord's will. © Sharon Niese

Sharon's Bio Sharon's testimony was published in Billy Graham's Decision Magazine last year. I live in Hamler, Ohio and have been married for almost 35 years. I accepted Christ late in life, and each day He blesses me with, I shall thank Him for His gift to me. God did a radical change in me: I, like the woman who washed Christ's feet, had many sins, which are now covered by His blood. To God be the glory....I have 2 children, a boy and a girl, both of whom are school teachers. I have 5 beautiful grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 boys. I am so blessed that I am able to watch them while my children teach.
