A Love From Above
Kay Brewer
Kay's bio: At my age I guess I just have too much time on my hands and after taking up the computer at age 73, discovered this "hobby" of writing poems. Now, in my mid-seventies, the two things seem to dominate my life. Of course I am always thrilled when something I have done makes it to the net, but I am also content when they just remain on my computer.
What is this feeling we call love? Is it true that it is sent by God above? When our children, one by one, arrives We know how enriched we find our lives. The protective love we feel lasts forever, Nothing short of death this bond will sever. This must be the real love Sent to us by God above.
But, wait, as love for a mate enters our heart, A feeling so strong we know we will never part. It fills us with joy and brightens each day And we know together we will always stay. Could any feeling be stronger than this? As we say to ourselves "tis heavenly bliss." We know this is real love. And for certain, comes from God above.
But then we recall our friends, so precious and dear. They feel our happiness, and our cries they can hear. When we are sad it is they who stand by our side, Then enfold us in arms they have opened so wide. We know this special feeling comes from within And a love like no other will slowly begin. Surely this is real love Sent by God from heaven above.
Each love is different; special in it's own way. And other loves, such as our pets, I must say. All fill our hearts with a joy so hard to explain. With all we are given, whether happiness or pain, Some kind of love is needed to help us through life. For everyday troubles and moments of strife God knew we could not survive without love, And so, it is sent from a caring Father above.
