Renewed Strength
by Helen Dowd

Eagle Facts:

The bald eagle glides on its powerful wings, searching for prey. When it spots a source of food it dives with powerful down strokes, at tremendous speed, shimmering just above the water. Spotting a fish, it will circle, approaching low over the water, reaching down with its feet and talons to grab its prey, just below the water's surface. With its catch it will soar up again, carrying its prey in its talons, to share it with its young. It is strong and tireless in its pursuit of food.

Psalm 103:1 and 5 "Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, and forget not all his benefits; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."

My youth is renewed as an eagle’s
Who's needs are satisfied.
I'm relying on God's power;
My faith is fortified.
I have God's strength within me.
My soul is soaring high.
I am no longer weary.
I shall no longer cry.

Isaiah 40:28-31 "Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.... He giveth power to the faint; and to them that hath no might he increaseth strength; ...Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary: and they shall walk, and not faint."

“Wait on the Lord,” Isaiah says,
“And He will strengthen thee.”
If you are faint, and full of fear,
To His protection flee.
Lift up your eyes, and look on high.
The way He’ll help you see.
You’ll mount with eagle wings again.
You’ll soar, renewed and free.
