"And thine eyes shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." Isaiah: 30:21.Have you ever come to a crossroad and wondered which way to take? I certainly have. One time we were traveling back home to British Columbia, from a trip to Eastern Ontario, where we had been visiting relatives. It was my turn to drive, while my husband got a bit of shut-eye. I have no sense of direction, and cannot even read a road map properly. My husband was a bit worried about this fact, but since we were on an extremely straight, secondary highway in Saskatchewan, with very little traffic, he figured I couldn't go wrong. But I did.
He woke up about fifty miles later, and still dazed from sleep, he stared around him wondering where we were. When he asked me, I jokingly said, "On the highway, where else?" There were no visible road signs, so we had to wait until we got to the next town sign to find out just where we were.
A few miles later he glanced at the road sign and gasped. I had taken a wrong turn. We had to go back about fifty miles; thus losing much treasured time, and gas mileage.
But on the road of life, to our final destination, we cannot afford to take a wrong turn. When we make the decision it must be the right one. Many verses in the Bible talk about the RIGHT and WRONG paths.
Proverbs 14:12 says: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
We may think we are on the right road. After all, it is a road. And don't all roads lead to the same destination? I have heard this said by many. "Well," they say, "there is more than one way to get to heaven." But there isn't.
John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Proverbs 15:24 says: "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath."
Two ways, the right and the wrong: Choose the right path today. Don’t stand at the crossroads wondering.
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
